Жизнь всегда превалирует над смертью. Даже в самых ужасных обстоятельствах люди продолжают любить, радоваться житейским мелочам и т.д. Это нормально и правильно. Но продолжать, как ни в чём ни бывало, писать в блоге о радостях бытия? Делать вид, что ничего не случилось? Нет, я так не могу и не считаю правильным. Случилось! И многое. Поэтому всё, точка. If it feels wrong don't do it - именно!

I am in my seventies now, I don't want to stop living just yet. I am very, very sad about what is going on, it has brought back many bad memories, but that doesn't mean that I should drop my friends, because this is the time we need each other most. I have signed up for your Instagram, just in case :-)

I understand, Alina. May be it is time to have blog just in English? When I started to write my blog many years ago, some of my Czech followers asked why I do not write in Czech as well as in English?
УдалитьSimply because my blog has been aimed mainly at English speaking audience, England is where I live and English is the language I speak every day to my English family and friends. I started my life "online" thanks to my English speaking friends. So no, I don't feel guilty about "only English" blog. And anything I write, Google can translate to any language.
But of course, you have to do what you feel comfortable with. Still, nice to see you on Instagram! :-)
Alina, for all of us it is terrible to see so much destruction, suffering and death in this horrible war in Ukraine, but I believe that all Russian people, should feel even more in their hearts, all this pain, because it is the result of the acts of a president Russian. I agree with Radka, communication is essential, even if it is without images, but with words that come from the heart and that will certainly cheer up those who will read them.

УдалитьAnd make no mistake: about 70% in Russia support their president and are furious about sanctions and with "western propaganda". I'm terrified, deeply upset and don't know what to say, how to talk.
And what about those people in Ukraine who are reading this blog too? What should I say to them? "Sorry, that my former compatriots are killing you"?
